East Coast of England - Approaches to the Wash


Race Bank & Docking Shoal


Establishment of meteorological masts and Oceanographical data buoy.


Mariners are advised that in preparation for the proposed wind farms, 2 meteorological masts and an Oceanographically data buoy.are to be established in the following positions commencing approximately on the 27th September 2005 and to be completed by 31st October 2005:-


a. Race Bank Met Mast     53° 18.82'N  000° 44.85'E

Yellow pile with lattice topmark

Fl. morse U 30s Range 10 Miles

Fog Horn morse U 30s range 2 Miles

At top of mast 90 metres above Mean sea level, aircraft warning light medium intensity fixed red light.


 

b. Docking Shoal Met Mast    53° 09.47'N  000° 38.87'E

Yellow pile with lattice topmark

Fl. morse U 30s Range 10 Miles

Fog Horn morse U 30s range 2 Miles

At top of mast 90 metres above Mean sea level, aircraft warning light medium intensity fixed red light.


c. Docking Shoal Oceanographically buoy 53° 09.04'N  000° 51.34'E

Yellow unlit buoy


The Jack up rig "Jumping Jack" with the Tug "Stevns Ocean" will be used to establish these masts and lay the data buoy. Both vessels will be listening on VHF channel 16 and VHF channel 8


Mariners are requested to keep a sharp lookout when navigating in the area and to give the operations as wide a berth as possible.


N.B. This Buoy NOT deployed due to weather conditions. A New Notice will be issued with revised Date of Deployment.
